how long does it usually to take these pics? i imagine the bugs dont have a lot of patience for modeling . nice capture, colors are sharp and exciting like always. soft is nice, kind of a tranquil feel. good overall shot.

it depends, in this case i was hunting a strange sort of flies on sheaf-like white flowers in our garden, which was also full of normal flies and wasps, but it shook in the wind too much
but i discovered some hoppers in the leaves i was standing in, and just took some shots
creeping up to insects, taking some shots from different angles (and manually adjusting the flash all the time inbetween) normally takes 2 seconds - 20 minutes, then it's either gone or i lose patience

either way keep it up :-p
